RED 2025: Mismatches in Anaphoric Relations

The 25th International Conference on Language and Communication (RED 25) will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 29–30, 2025, at the University of Graz in Austria. Among the organizers is Prof. Dr. Klaus von Heusinger, project leader of CRC project C04. The conference brings together researchers investigating the complexities of anaphoric reference across languages, modalities, and theoretical frameworks.

GAKT 9: Creativity and Interpretation

The international conference "Germanic Linguistics between Cologne and Tokyo (GAKT 9) will take place for the ninth time this year at Bielefeld University. The theme is "Creativity and Interpretation," and it will be held on April 29th and 30th. The SFB project C04 is represented, with Prof. Dr. Klaus von Heusinger, who is involved in organizing the conference, and Timo Buchholz, who will hold a presentation.

DAAD Procope Program: Kick off event

Tabea Thies (T01) is pleased to announce the kick-off event of the DAAD-funded Procope program exchange between Paris and Cologne, taking place on April 16th. The event featured two exciting sessions; the talk "Investigating Speech Breathing with E/M Articulography" and the workshop "Introduction to the Articulatory Data Analysis Tool". 47. DGfS Annual Conference 2025

This year's annual conference of the German Linguistic Society (DGfS) took place from March 4 to 7 at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. Members of the CRC were involved in the organization of the workshop: AG 3 "Attractors in language variation, processing and change", Matthias Schlesewsky & Ina Bornkessel-Schlesewsky (University of South Australia), Petra Schumacher (A01, C07, C09). Early Career Researcher award 2025 by the SLLS

Justine Mertz (associated with A04) received the Early Career Researcher award 2025 for her work on "Exploring prosodic modulation in LSF: A kinematic study on sign coarticulation"! She received the award at the TISLR15 conference (14-17 January 2025) in Addis Abeba in Ethiopia.
