a.r.t.e.s. Graduate school
The Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne, a.r.t.e.s., manages all doctorates at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Cologne and thus also all doctorates that are based at our CRC.
Two models are offered for doctoral studies - the Regular Track, the standard model for an individual doctorate, and the Integrated Track, a structured model. Participation as a fellow in the Integrated Track requires an additional application.
The Integrated Track is characterised by intensive supervision and interdisciplinary exchange. This enables doctoral students to receive particularly good support in the development and implementation of their doctoral project and to complete a high-quality doctorate within three years. Participation in the Integrated Track is a prerequisite for a doctorate within the framework of our CRC.
All Integrated Track doctoral students are supervised in graduate classes by two professors from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Our doctoral students attend the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate Class 8 “Prominence in Language”.
