B04 - Interaction of nominal and verbal features for Differential Object Marking

Building on the results of phase I, phase II investigates Differential Object Marking (DOM) as the result of a complex interaction between nominal and verbal prominence features. Focusing on Spanish and Turkish, one of the major challenges is to understand why DOM is determined by two rather contrary verbal prominence features, i.e. agentivity and affectedness. Moreover, the project aims at analyzing DOM in contexts with three (or more) arguments, and at exploring the impact of DOM on discourse structure.
