WDR5's show "Scala" aired a feature with Prof. Himmelmann on 9 January 2019. The UNESCO has proclaimed 2019 the Year of Indigenous Languages, the demise of many of which has been caused by colonialism and globalisation. (Radio feature available in German only!)
