B01 - Prominence phenomena in Slavic languages

In phase I we established that certain impersonal constructions (the so-called ‑no/‑to construction, the reflexive impersonal and the 3pl impersonal in Russian, Polish and Serbo-Croatian) are judged more acceptable when they have more prominent agents. Based on the hypothesis that features of discourse prominence (topicality, recency, etc.) render these constructions less acceptable, we now investigate the interaction between agent prominence and discourse prominence.
