A04 - Dynamic modelling of prosodic prominence

This project focuses on the dynamic modelling of prosodic prominence interms of vocal tract actions in German. Two series of experiments are carried out, each of them using 3-D Electromagnetic Articulography (kinematic and acoustic data, 10 speakers each) and computer-based simulation of speech production. In test series #1, we investigate the nature of highlighting mechanisms reflected in the speakers' supralaryngeal coordination patterns. In test series #2 we analyse temporal and spatial adjustments of articulation to test for prominence-induced highlighting due to different baselines induced by different speaking styles.
